PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of the whole of a redundant system without improving the reliability of a structuring element, in an automobile equipped with a redundant system. SOLUTION: The automobile has a first system 28 provided with a first operating amount sensor 12, a first steering electronic controlling unit 16, and a first steering actuator 20; and a second system 28 structured in the same way. The automobile is also provided with an electronic controlling steering system 8 structuring a double redundant system. When one system is out of order, repair is recommended to a driver, and warning lamps 44, 46, buzzers 40, 42 and the like are actuated, and furthermore, the necessity to repair a failure is indicated within a fixed time period by a navigation electronic controlling unit 62. In the automobile, the way of recommending repair is enhanced with the passage of time. In case that the failure is not repaired with in the fixed time period, the automobile is forcibly stopped by controlling of an engine electronic controlling unit 58, a brake electronic controlling unit 60 and the like, so that the repair is insured to be done within the fixed time period, and reliability is improved.
