PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aromatic amine-modified resol-type phenol resin for paper impregnation, which has excellent impregnating ability to a paper base and provides resin-impregnated paper having excellent heat resistance. SOLUTION: The resol-type phenol resin is an aromatic amine-modified resol-type phenol resin for paper impregnation obtained by reacting a phenol with an aldehyde and an aromatic amine and preferably has 150-500 weight-average molecular weight by GPC measurement and 2-100 pts.wt. of the aromatic amine is used based on 100 pts.wt. of the phenol.
