A composition comprising the extract of citrus is provided to inhibit side effects to human body in use, reduce the time for hair coloring, prevent hair loss, and improve dyeability, hair conditioning effects and color fastness. A composition for coloring the hair comprises a first reagent containing 85-93 wt.% of the extract of citrus which is prepared by extracting citrus with methanol, ethanol, acetone, dioxane, tetrahydrofuran, n-prophenol, hydrous methanol, hydrous ethanol, hydrous acetone, n-butanol, n-hexane, acetate ethyl or benzene, 0.5-3 wt.% of dye and a remaining amount of at least one selected from flavoring agents, sterilizer, antiseptic, antioxidant, UV absorber, ammonia water, ammonium glycolic acid, fatty acid alcohol, water and potassium alum; and a second reagent containing 85-90 wt.% of the extract of citrus and a remaining amount of oxidizing agent and pH regulator, wherein the first agent and second agent are separately provided and form gel phase when they are mixed for use. Further, the first reagent additionally comprises 0.1 to 5 wt.% of foaming agent.
