Essential oil based formulation suitable for disinfecting a contaminated environment

A vapour-producing product for disinfecting a space comprising one or more essential oils or essential oil components, and a mixture of volatile and non-volatile solvents absorbed on a solid carrier, wherein the % weight ratio of volatile to non-volatile solvent is 3:1to 1:3 and wherein the carrier is a non-woven material comprising cellulosic fibres and plastic, or is amorphous silicon dioxide. Suitable essential oil components include cinnamic aldehyde, cinnamic alcohol and eugenol; and suitable essential oil is tea tree oil and cinnamon oil. Suitable volatile solvent is an alcohol such as iso-propanol; and suitable non-volatile solvent includes water and a glycol such as monopropylene glycol.
