Provided is an efficient robot layout that has a high degree of freedom. In the present invention, a robot system has an operation platform on which an operation object is placed, and a robot device. The robot device is provided with: a base 1; and an arm 2 that can rotate in a twisting manner around a first axis on substantially the center line of the base, that can rotate in a bending manner around a second axis orthogonal to the first axis, and that can linearly extend and retract along a third axis orthogonal to the second axis. An operation is performed, in collaboration with an operator, on the operation object with an end effector 3 mounted on the tip of the arm. The base is disposed in a position in which a movable region MR of the arm associated with the rotation about the first and second axes and the linear extension and retraction along the third axis overlaps at least partially with an operation region WAM as caused by the operator. |
