A phosphorus compound represented by general formula (1): wherein R1 and R2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aryl group, a heteroaryl group, an aralkyl group, an alkoxy group, or a halogeno group, in which the alkenyl group, the aryl group, the heteroaryl group, the aralkyl group, and the alkoxy group are optionally substituted with at least one group selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, a halogenoalkyl group, an aryl group, a heteroaryl group, an aralkyl group, an alkoxy group, and a halogeno group; R3 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group, or an aralkyl group, in which the aryl group and the aralkyl group are optionally substituted with at least one group selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, an aryl group, and an aralkyl group; R4, R5, R6, R7, R8, R9, and R10 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aryl group, or an aralkyl group, in which the alkenyl group, the aryl group, and the aralkyl group are optionally substituted with at least one group selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, an aryl group, and an aralkyl group; N represents a nitrogen atom; P represents a phosphorus atom; Y represents lone pair electrons, an oxo group, or a thioxo group; Z represents an oxy group or a thioxy group; R1 and R2 may be bonded to each other to form a P-containing ring, in which the ring is optionally substituted with at least one group selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, a halogenoalkyl group, an aryl group, a heteroaryl group, an aralkyl group, an alkoxy group, and a halogeno group; and each of the pairs of R4 and R5, R5 and R6, R7 and R8, R8 and R9, and R9 and R10 may be bonded to each other to form an unsaturated hydrocarbon ring which is fused with the benzene ring or the pyrrole ring, in which the unsaturated hydrocarbon ring is optionally substituted with at least one group selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, an aryl group, and an aralkyl group.
