PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device which can deform a shock absorption part while utilizing a space effectively.SOLUTION: A steering device 1 includes: a second tooth formation member 50 which is separated from a lower jacket 8 in secondary collision in a state where a first tooth 41 is engaged with a second tooth 51; and a shock absorption unit 70. The shock absorption unit 70 includes: a pair of shock absorption parts 71 including a first portion 73 extending upward in a column axial direction X from a restraint part 72 restrained in the column axial direction X, and a second portion 75 folded from the first portion 73 via a folding part 74 respectively, and for separating in a first orthogonal direction Y1; and a connection part 76 for connecting between the second portions 75 and integrally moving with the second tooth formation member 50 in the secondary collision. In the secondary collision, the pair of shock absorption parts 71 absorbs the shock by moving the folding part 74 downward in the column axial direction X while guiding the movement of the second tooth formation member 50 between opposing edge parts 71a respectively downward in the column axial direction X.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
