PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a formulation technique for improving the anti-inflammatory analgesic action of an external pharmaceutical composition comprising diclofenac and/or salt thereof.SOLUTION: An external pharmaceutical composition comprises diclofenac and/or salt thereof and additionally comprises capsaicinoid, tocopherol and/or derivative thereof, and ester derivative of nicotinic acid, and also has a pH controlled at 6.1 or more, so that anti-inflammatory action is significantly improved for dramatic improvement of anti-inflammatory analgesic action.SELECTED DRAWING: None
