PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a video content to be viewed through any picture frame.SOLUTION: Provided are a content transmission device enabling a viewer to view a video content in any picture frame, a content transmission method, a content reproduction device, a content reproduction method, a program, and a content distribution system. The content transmission device includes a holding unit for holding a high-definition video content, a reception unit for receiving picture frame information transmitted from the content reproduction device, a calculator for calculating a cutout range based on the received picture frame information, a cutout unit for cutting out the calculated cutout range from the held high-definition video contents, and a sending unit for sending any picture frame content composed of the cutout result to the content reproduction device.
