A heating device for washing fluid in window washing systems of vehicles with an interior, included in the fluid line, of a through-flow container consisting of a hollow element which is closed at both ends and has hose or tube connections, and a line-like heating element which is provided in a heating circuit which starts from a current source, is to be improved in such a way that with a sufficient energy balance the operational reliability is ensured even with fully automatic operation and additionally the heating device itself remains so small that it can be installed in any vehicle. For this purpose, the hollow element (51) is formed from at least one metal tube (50) which is bent in a helix shape and whose turns essentially rest one against the other and bound an interior (49) and which is provided at least on one surface with a heat-conductive, electrically insulating layer, the line-like heating element being a heating wire (55) or the like which is wound around the hollow element and which is surrounded by a cover sleeve (41) which insulates parallel to the hollow element, a temperature switch (66) being secured as a temperature-sensing device in the interior of the hollow element (51). <IMAGE>
