<p>The separator for the balls of a ball bearing assembly, especially of the land riding variety is constructed of two like parts (36,38) joined together by ultrasonic welding. The separator (26) is provided with generally cylindrical ball receiving pockets (24). Skis (60) are provided on the circumference of the separator (26) which ride on lands of the outer race (16) of the bearing (10). Each part (36,38) of the separator (26) is formed with alternating studs (44) and bores (46), which, when two parts are assembled, the bores (46) receive the opposing studs (44). The structure is so formed to insure the flow of lubricant to the raceways (14, 16)</p> |
