High voltage power switch assembly has a limit stop (12) at the rod (13) that carries the moving arc contact (2). When the arc contacts (2, 3) have been separated, the inner side (11) has blower openings (10) for a compression cylinder (9) carried with it. The insulation body (8), defining the arc zone (5), in the axial direction forms one zone as a funnel (6) connected to the compression cylinder (9), and a second zone which has the fixed arc contact (3). The funnel (6) together with the compression cylinder (9) and also the funnel (7) at the fixed arc contact (3) are of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or are coated with PTFE. The guide rod (29) is PTFE.
