The method involves separating a stream of liquid food from a mainstream of liquid food supplied to a liquid food treating device. Calcium salt is added to the stream of liquid food, and a precipitation of the calcium salt is formed. The liquid food stream is re-introduced into the mainstream of the liquid food such that the calcium precipitate floats on the mainstream of liquid food.
