<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loose source routing system, in which a transfer path can be freely designated by the policy of a transmitter, and transfer delay can be reduced. SOLUTION: At the time of transferring an IP packet received from a user LAN 1l through nodes 1c and 1e to a gateway device 1g, a transmitter gateway device 1a decomposes the transmitted packet into ATM cells, are well as prepares a pseudo-BOM1 cell and a pseudo-BOM2 cell, whose destination address fields include the addresses of the passing nodes 1c and 1e, adds them before a BOM cell in which the actual destination address is inputted, and transmits them to an ATM network. The ATM nodes 1c and 1e detect that the value of the destination IP address field of the leading pseudo-BOM cell is the same as the address value of its own node, abandons the pseudo-BOM cell, and transfers all cells belonging to the same packet to the next ATM node by using the following BOM cell as the leading cell of the packet. Finally, the cell column of the original packet is transmitted to the gateway device 1g designated by the BOM cell, assembled into a packet, and than transmitted to a user LAN 1m.</p> |
