A silicate material, comprises an amorphous alkali metal oxide and silicon oxide binder matrix containing specified amounts silicon dioxide, water-proofing additive and fine filler. A silicate material comprises an amorphous binder matrix of lithium, sodium and/or potassium oxide and silicon dioxide, wit silicon dioxide content of more than 25 mol per mol alkali metal oxide and a uniformly distributed water-proofing additive conte of 10-150 g per 1000 g silicon dioxide, and contains 400-7000 g filler of particle size less than 200 mu m per 1000 g silicon dioxide. An Independent claim is also included for production of the above silicate material. |
