A worm-like packaging material based on synthetic or natural polymers, especially an artificial sausage skin obtained from tubular material, where the roughness of the tubular material in contact with a take up bar and that of the take up bar itself together make up a roughness of 0.5 to 5 micron, the take up thickness (density) is 1:200 to 1:500, the worm length is 10-200 cm, and the wall thickness of the skin is 20-80 micron is new. An Independent claim is included for preparation of the packaging skin, e.g. sausage skin, in which the sliding friction between the skin material and the surface of a take up bar on which the skin material is placed is so minimized that the sliding friction is less than that which occurs on complete adhesion between a smooth skin material contact surface and the smooth contact surface of the take up bar and also smaller than the friction force between the roughened contact surface of the tubing material and a roughened contact surface of the take up bar. |
