PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas security device for limiting use time for each application for security. SOLUTION: This gas security device 10 comprises an ultrasonic flowmeter 11 that is connected to a gas supply pipe 20 and measures the instantaneous flow rate of gas, a flow rate arithmetic section 12 for calculating the flow rate differential value for determing an apparatus or an application from the instantaneous flow rate, an application determination section 14 for determining the flow rate variation characteristic of the gas flow rate such as flow rate variation amount or changing time based on the flow rate differential value using the determination value for each application, and determining the application of the gas flowing in the gas supply pipe 20, and a control section 15 having a function of a safety processing section that sets a security processing execution conditions such as continuous use time according to the determined application and executes the security processing such as warning or gas shut-off for each application.
