Provided are a control device for a power converter, a control program, and a power conversion apparatus whereby it is possible to rapidly search for a maximum power point in power output maximization control, allow for greater power output by reducing power generation opportunity loss, and reduce required control adjustments. The control device for a power converter comprises: a search unit 31 which searches for a maximum power point of a power source 200 connected to a power converter 400, by increasing or decreasing the operating voltage or operating current of the power source 200 in steps of a predetermined step size; a continuity determination unit 32 which determines whether or not the search unit 31 has continuously increased or continuously decreased the operating voltage or operating current of the power source 200; and a step size increasing unit 33 which increases the step size if the continuity determination unit 32 determines that the operating voltage or operating current has been increased or decreased continuously a predetermined number of times.
