PURPOSE:To obtain the title element having an electron transfer layer containing an electron transferring polymer as an essential component, having excellent luminescent property at low voltage, having uniform film thickness and free from defect such as pinhole. CONSTITUTION:A monomer obtained by reacting a compound expressed by formula I (R<1> is H or 1-4C alkyl; X is eliminating group of OH or halogen) with a compound expressed by formula II (R<2> is H, 1-4C alkyl, alkoxy, amino, halogen, aldehyde, nitro, etc.; (x) is 1-6; Y is eliminating group of H, alkali metal atom, etc.) is polymerized to afford an electron transferring polymer expressed by formula III ((n) is >=2) and preferably having 1,000-1,000,000 number-average molecular weight. The polymer is used as an essential component and e.g. in case of two layer type, an organic luminescent agent such as 7-dimethylamino-4-methylcoumarin is added to the polymer to provide the objective element.
