<p>PURPOSE: To compress a pet bottle under low pressure while safely performing the sufficient vol. reduction thereof by a small-sized pet bottle treatment apparatus. CONSTITUTION: The pet bottles in a housing part 2 are heated to temp. from the glass transition temp. (80 deg.C or higher) of the resin of the bottles to the melting temp. (200 deg.C or lower) thereof, for example, 150 deg.C by a heating part 7 and, in parallel to this heating operation, air is sent to a bag 4 by an air pump 5 to raise a bottom plate 3 to compress the pet bottles. By this constitution, the elasticity of the pet bottles is lowered and the force necessary for compression is reduced and the increase in strength caused by crystallization is prevented to facilitate plastic deformation and the compression effect of the pet bottles is enhanced.</p> |
