PURPOSE: To convert a color separation signal at a high speed by obtaining a bit slice signal, obtaining a function at a closest point, obtaining a weight function, obtaining each accumulated value and adding the accumulated values so as to obtain a signal value of a color separation signal group. CONSTITUTION: A function (f) outputted from a grating point function lookup table 50 and a weight W outputted from a weight generator 66 are multiplied by a multiplier 60 and the product is given to an adder 62. An output W.f from the adder 62 is latched by a register 64 and fed back to the adder 62. Then the adder 62 and the register 64 act like a product sum arithmetic section, which results in outputting an accumulated valueΣW.f. 5 kinds of bit slice signals Sbit outputted from a low-order bit signal register 30 are subject to product sum arithmetic operation for five times, then the outputΣW.f of the register 64 is a signal representing the sum of the weight functions. As a result the outputΣW.f is a converted output color separation signal SB. |
