PURPOSE: To obtain a case wherein the maximal use of the absorption capacity of an ink absorbing material is made to reduce the thickness of a waste ink tank, and to surely prevent waste ink from entering a power unit. CONSTITUTION: The bottom of a box 1 is divided by partitions 20-23 to form a waste ink storage chamber 25 and waste ink is introduced to the central part of the waste ink storage chamber 25. Even if the waste ink solidifies in a region of an ink absorbing material 28, the waste ink flows around to other regions and is absorbed in the ink absorbing material 28, since the waste ink is absorbed in the ink absorbing material 28 from all around. A power unit compartment 15 to house a power unit is divided by two adjacent walls 1b and 1c of the box 1 and walls 16 and 17 that connect to the walls 1b and 1c, so that the ink is prevented from entering the power unit compartment 15 by the walls 1b, 1c, 16 and 17 even when the ink leaks out from the waste ink storage chamber 25. |
