PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize the image processing capacity effectively by predicting the image formability appropriately thereby preventing an essential image output from being blocked and avoiding failure of image forming process. SOLUTION: The image processor 100 executes writing through a writing circuit 9 in parallel with image formation through a printer engine 7 in units of band. A print data received from a host computer 200 is converted into a writing code in order to predict the writing time for each band and if the predicted time is shorter than the image forming time of 1 band, a decision is made that a correct printing can be executed and printing is executed. If the predicted time exceeds the image forming time and the printing fails during actual printing, correction factors are modified based on that results at the time of predicting the writing time and stored in a nonvolatile memory 4. At the time of next printing, the writing time is predicted with reference to the modified correction factors. |
