PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control steering quantity according to the travel state of two-front- axle vehicle. SOLUTION: Interlocked with steering operation of a steering wheel 1, a front-front wheels 3 are steered by front-front axle steering mechanism 4. Independently of the front-front axle steering mechanism 4, a power cylinder 7 is driven to steer front-rear wheels 5 by front-rear axle steering mechanism 6. The steering angle of the steering wheel 1 is detected by a steering angle sensor, and the yaw rate and lateral deviation of a vehicle are detected by a travel state detecting means. According to the detection output of the steering angle sensor, a control device 9 steers the front-rear wheels 5 in the same direction as the front-front wheels 3 and controls the operation of a power cylinder 7 with the steering quantity with the yaw rate and lateral deviation added thereto. The steering quantity is therefore controlled according to the travel state of a vehicle so as to suitably improve the steering characteristic of the vehicle. |
