ETHYLENE COPOLYMER FOR INSULATED ELECTRIC WIRE AND INSULATED ELECTRIC WIRE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an insulated electric wire such as a CV cable excellent in impulse-resistant properties and also having sufficient flexibility. SOLUTION: An insulator to be used in this insulated electric wire is made using an ethylene copolymer obtained by copolymerization between ethylene and a 3-20Cα-olefin and having the following properties: (1) density: 0.880-0.950 g/cm<3> , (2) MFR at 190 deg.C under a load of 2.16 kg: 0.1-10 g/10 min, and (3) decane solubles W (wt.%) at 23 deg.C and density D (g/cm<3> ) satisfy the relationship: W<80×exp(-100×(D-0.88))+0.1.
