PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily retrieve documents of other languages without using any specific dictionary by retrieving the same document similar to an object document as a source of retrieval and retrieving documents of other languages related previously to the similar document. SOLUTION: An other-language specifying means 501 specifies other languages for retrieval. A document acquiring means 502 acquires the object document as the source of the retrieval. A similar document retrieving means 503 retrieves a document similar to the object document from documents of the same languages with the object document obtained by the document acquiring means 502. Then an other-language-document specifying means 504 retrieves documents of other languages specified by the other-langauge specifying means 501 while related previously to the similar document retrieved by the similar document retrieving means 503. Consequently, the other-language-document retrieval system is obtained which can easily retrieve even other documents of other languages without using any specific dictionary. |
