METHOD FOR PROVIDING DISPATCH SCAN SERVICE, METHOD FOR ACQUIRING DISPATCH SCAN SERVICE, BASE SITE, AND COMMUNICATION UNIT

PURPOSE: A method for providing a dispatch scan service, a method for acquiring the dispatch scan service, a base site, and a communication unit are provided to offer the dispatch scan service on a CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) communication system. CONSTITUTION: A CDMA base site(101) provides a dispatch group call service to members of a dispatch group(113) by using the first long-code mask. The CDMA base site(101) also repeatedly transmits the group call's channel assignment so that a scanning communication unit(105) detects that the call is active. In order that the scanning communication unit(105) to decode the dispatch communication once the call is detected, it requests a long-code mask transition from the CDMA base site(101). The CDMA base site(101) then transmits a new long-code mask and begins encoding the dispatch communication using the new long-code mask. Thus, the scanning communication unit(105) decodes the communication and thereby joins the active CDMA dispatch group call.
