PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell-culturing and detecting apparatus which can reduce loads on live cells and accurately measure a feature value of fluorescent light and the like emitted from the live cells. SOLUTION: This cell-culturing and detecting apparatus 1 is characterized by comprising a culture container 10 for receiving cells A together with a culture solution W, a culture means 20 for culturing the cells A in prescribed culture conditions, a detection means 30 for detecting a feature value of the cells A from the cells A during the culturing, and a light-screening means for screening the culture container 10 from environmental light L, when the feature value of the cells A are not detected.
