Re-using residual cement concrete in transport containers comprises: (a) adding a precisely calculated amt. of retarder of the phosphonic acid deriv. type before the concrete sets; and (b) adding fresh concrete at the end of the desired retardation period so that the ratio of cement in the fresh and old concrete fractions is at least 2:1.
