<p>This invention provides (1) a ter-pyridine-type monomer which can be strongly coordinated to a metal, and (2) a polymer material which can easily control color development and decoloration by controlling the potential and, at the same time, can be fabricated. The bister-pyridine-type monomer as the first invention comprises a first ter-pyridyl substituent (A), a second ter-pyridyl substituent (B), and at least one spacer of a benzene ring for connecting both the substituents (A) and (B). The polymer material as the second invention comprises a polymer comprising a bister-pyridine derivative derived form the monomer as the first invention, a metal ion, and a counter anion, or a polymer comprising first to Nth (wherein N is an integer of 2 or more) bister-pyridine derivative and first to Nth (wherein N is an integer of 2 or more) metal ion, and first to Nth (wherein N is an integer of 2 or more) counter anion.</p> |
