<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store hot water at a high temperature even if the pressure in a hot water storage tank is low in a heat pump system for hot water supply. <P>SOLUTION: In this heat pump system for hot water supply, a heat exchanger 5 of a vapor compression cycle is provided in a route of hot water supply piping 6, an inlet pipe 9 on the hot water supply side is directly connected to the water supply at the reduced pressure, and an outlet pipe 10 on the hot water supply side is connected to the hot water storage tank 2 through a flow regulating valve 13a. Even when the pressure in the hot water storage tank 2 is low, the inlet pipe 9 on the hot water supply side is directly connected to the water supply, so that the pressure in the hot water supply pipe 6 becomes higher to raise a boiling point temperature, thereby making the heating temperature higher.
