PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens centering device and a lens centering method by which the eccentricity of a lens to be adjusted is highly accurately adjusted without requiring machining accuracy of a lens frame part and advanced technical skill. SOLUTION: The lens centering device 1 is equipped with: the lens frame part 3 having a center axial line C1 and supporting a lens (lens to be adjusted) 2 only by an outer peripheral surface; a lens frame base part 6 placing the lens frame part 3 on a plane part 5; a lens holding part having a radius of curvature nearly the same as that of the first surface (front surface) of the lens 2; a rotating mechanism 8 rotating the lens frame part 3 and the lens holding part around a rotational axial line C2; a first positioning mechanism 10 adjusting a distance between a center of curvature of the lens abutting surface of the lens holding part and the rotational axial line C2; a second positioning mechanism 11 adjusting a distance between the center axial line C1 of the lens frame part 3 and the rotational axial line C2 independently of the first positioning mechanism 10; and an angle adjusting mechanism 12 fluctuating an angle formed by the center axial line C1 of the lens frame part 3 with the rotational axial line C2.
