摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ranging device that is less influenced by noise, capable of simplifying a circuit that drives an imaging element, and reducing the load on a CPU. SOLUTION: This device has a light emission means 14 having a light emitting part 26, a light emission control part 28 for modulating intensity of light emitted from the light emitting part 26 and emitting the light as the first modulated light 12A-the fourth modulated light 12D, and a start time control part 64 for controlling a time length from a reference time of the first modulated light 12A-the fourth modulated light 12D until an irradiation start time; a light receiving means 20 for receiving reflected light 18 from a detection object 16 irradiated with the first modulated light 12A-the fourth modulated light 12D; and a calculation means 22 for calculating the distance to the detection object 16 from the phase difference between the first modulated light 12A-the fourth modulated light 12D and the reflected light 18. The light receiving means 20 samples light quantity of the reflected light 18 in the exposure period, set in each fixed cycle with the irradiation start time as reference.
