MULTI-VENDOR POWER LINE COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF

A multi vendor power line communications network management system and a method for managing a multi vendor power line communications network are provided to store the OID(Object Identifier) of MIB(Management Information Base) of each vendor which becomes with common management information and mapping in DB. A transceiver receives an administrator request through the SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) communication. A protocol processing processor analyzes the administrator request. The SNMP message is produced. The SNMP message in which the SNMP agent answers is processed. An MIB processor searches OID of the vendor MIB mapped with the requested management information from DB. The protocol processing portion produces the SNMP message to the corresponding OID. The SNMP message in which transceiver is generated is transmitted to the SNMP agent. It receives response from the SNMP agent and the simple network management protocol manager determinates the process. If OID of the specific vendor MIB is not found, it informs the simple network management protocol manager to administrator with the management information requested does not exist.
