PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition for a batch-annealed steel strip for improving detergency and reducing the degree of adhesion of a batch-annealed steel strip in a manufacturing process of the steel strip including a cleaning process and a batch annealing process. SOLUTION: The detergent composition for the batch-annealed steel strip contains 0.1-26 wt.% silicate (a), 0.15-15 wt.% specific ampholytic surfactant (b), one or more kinds of nonionic surfactants (c) selected among alkylene oxide adducts of 4-24C alcohol, one or more compounds (d) selected among specific carboxylate compounds shown by general formulas (d1) to (d2), and water.
