PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an aluminum porous body which absorbs surplus water with high efficiency even in an environment that is humid and tends to form dew, prevents dew condensation water from generating on the surface of a substrate, has high mechanical strength, has excellent workability, has superior lightweight properties and has superior weatherability. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method includes: preparing fine particles 3 of aluminum having irregularities formed on their surfaces by being pulverized with a mechanical means and having particle diameters of 300μm or smaller; filling a die 1 with the particles; and pressing the particles with a pressure of 30 to 60 kg/cm<SP>2</SP>in a temperature range of 550 to 600°C, at which the surface of the fine particles of aluminum is softened.
