PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence element that has high external extraction quantum efficiency and long light emission life, and to provide a display and a lighting device using the same. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the organic electroluminescence element which has an anode and a cathode on a support substrate, has at lest one light emitting layer between the anode and cathode, and contains an adduct or a polymer obtained by subjecting any of organic layers including the light emitting layer to addition reaction of carbene.
