PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the period of time required for correction of image distortion caused by nonlinearity of a gradient magnetic field in an MRI.SOLUTION: An MRI apparatus (20) includes a data collection unit and an image reconstruction unit (90). The data collection unit applies a gradient magnetic field to an imaging region as main scanning, transmits an excitation pulse thereto, and stores a nuclear magnetic-resonance signal collected from the imaging region, as frequency space data. The image reconstruction unit generates image data by subjecting the frequency space data to conversion processing for conversion to real space data and correction processing based on distortion correction data for regulating a method for correcting image distortion caused by nonlinearity of the gradient magnetic field. The image reconstruction unit starts calculation of the distortion correction data before execution of the conversion processing after establishment of conditions for use in the calculation of the distortion correction data, from among main scanning conditions. |
