PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument, authentication system, authentication processing method, authentication processing program and storage medium that resolve chores of registration of user authentication information, and enable efficient user authentication.SOLUTION: Prior to user authentication, an operation unit 20 is configured to acquire authentication information (an address book 60a) stored in a main body 10 of an MFP and for use in user authentication. A priority user management unit 54 of the operation unit 20 is configured to create and list priority user information made by adding time information upon authenticating a user to the authentication information corresponding to the user authenticated as a normal user upon authenticating the user of the acquired authentication information (a priority user list 52). A first authentication unit 53 of the operation unit 20 is configured to, when authenticating the user, collate input authentication information input from the user with the authentication information to be used in the user authentication to implement the user authentication. When the main body 10 is notified of an authentication result indicative of the normal user from the operation unit 20, a use of functions of the main body 10 is permitted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
