<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a honeycomb structure which has a low degree of dispersion of pore diameters and high strength. <P>SOLUTION: First, a columnar honeycomb molding has a large number of cells juxtaposed in a longitudinal direction, partitioned by a cell wall, by molding a feedstock composition containing at least, silicon carbide powder and a binder. Then a honeycomb degreased compact is manufactured by degreasing the honeycomb molding. Further, the honeycomb structure made up of a honeycomb calcined compact is manufactured by calcining the honeycomb degreased compact. The above degreasing treatment is characterized in that it is performed at 250 to 390°C degreasing temperature and at 5 to 13 vol.% O<SB>2</SB>density in the atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
