An image processing device is provided with: a first calculation unit that calculates a first high-frequency component of a pixel value of a pixel to be subjected to removal of line crawl, using the pixel values of a first pixel group and a second pixel group for which the characteristics of line crawl superimposed upon image data differ; a second calculation unit that calculates a second high-frequency component of the pixel value of the pixel to be subjected to the removal of line crawl, using the pixel values of the first pixel group or the second pixel group whichever has the same characteristic as the pixel to be subjected to the removal of line crawl; a correction value obtaining unit that subtracts the second high-frequency component from the first high-frequency component, and obtains a correction value for line crawl of the pixel to be subjected to the removal of line crawl; and a removal unit that removes the line crawl superimposed upon the pixel value of the pixel to be subjected to the removal of line crawl, on the basis of the correction value. |
