A method for the compensation of reflections in optical frequency domain reflectometry comprises the provision of a fiber-optical measuring system for incoherent optical frequency domain reflectometry, the injection of an intensity-modulated sinusoidal signal into the measuring system, the detection of an interference signal caused by reflection in the measuring system, and the superimposition of a counter-phase suppression signal to destroy the interference signal. The invention further relates to a correspondingly designed measuring system.
