PURPOSE: To obtain a dermal preparation for external use, containing an inhibitor of nitrogen monoxide synthesis and having preventing and ameliorating actions on ruddy faces. CONSTITUTION: This dermal preparation for external use contains one or more inhibitors of nitrogen monoxide synthesis such as L-nitroarginine methyl ester, L-nitroarginine or L-monomethylarginine as active ingredients in an amount of >0.8 mass % in a base and can be prepared into a cosmetic and a medicinal preparation such as a milky lotion, a lotion, a cream, a jelly, a pack, a powder or an ointment by suitably further blending an antioxidant (e.g.α-tocopherol), a UV absorber, an excipient, an oil, a surfactant, a preservative, a humectant, a perfume, an alcohol, water, a thickener, a coloring matter, etc., therewith according to a conventional method. The dermal preparation for external use is capable of directly and efficiently suppressing the redness in cheek parts.
