PURPOSE:To obtain the magnetic head which has high efficiency of a core and is capable of acting the magnetic field of required strength on a recording layer even if the number of turns of a coil and recording current are small by fixing a thin film consisting of a high saturation magnetic flux density material to the end face of the core facing a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The core 24 formed of a soft magnetic material to a U shape is fixed to one end of a slider 21 and a thin film 26b consisting of 'SENDUST(R)' is fixed to the open end of the core 24. The high saturation magnetic flux density materials including 'Permalloy(R)', amorphous material Fe-C or soft magnetic iron alloy such as Fe-Rh, etc., is used as the material for forming the thin film 26b. The magnetic field intensity of the magnetic head 2 is thereby improved and the magnetic field acting on the recording medium is increased even if the number of turns of the coil 23 and the magneti zation current required for recording are small. |
