In a method of manufacturing annular products of a material belonging to the group of materials which consist of metallic materials, ceramic materials and composite materials with metallic or ceramic materials as the main component, a tubular blank (7) of any of said materials is rotated around the centre axis (8) of the blank, at the same time as at least one high-pressure water jet (12, 13) is directed towards the rotating blank in a radial plane at right angles to the axis of rotation, so that a groove is formed in said radial plane, which groove extends from the outer circumference of the blank at least as far as adjacent to the inner cavity of the blank, following which cutting into separate rings is accomplished.
