PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a grease compsn. excellent in load bearing properties and abrasion resistance by compounding a base oil, a thickener, a molybdenum dithiocarbamate, and a polysulfide. SOLUTION: A mineral-oil-based lube oil, a synthetic lube base oil, etc., pref. having a viscosity (40 deg.C) of 80-400 mm/s, are used as the base oil (A). A lithium soap is pref. as the thickener (B). The molybdenum dithiocarbamate (C) is representred by the formula (R is 1-18C alkyl; a+b is 4; and b is 1-4) and is pref. a powder having an average particle size of 2-50μm at normal temp. A polysulfide (D) represented by the formula: R<1> -Sc -R<2> (R<1> and R<2> are each an 8-16C hydrocarbon group; and c is 2-7) is used, di-tert-dodecyl polysulfide being pref. the amts. of ingredients A and B compounded are 70-95 mass.% and 5-30 mass.%, respectively, of the sum of these two ingredients. The amts. of ingredients C and D compounded are 5-20 mass.% and 3-20 mass.%, respectively, of the compsn. |
