PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound having a nitric oxide synthase(NOS) inhibiting action and usable as a therapeutic agent for cerebrovascular diseases, head injury, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, etc. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I [R1 is a tricyclic heterocyclic group, whose arbitrary position may be substituted with a lower alkyl and/or a halogen, having one or more nitrogen group; R2 is phenyl, pyridyl or a group of formula II (R3 is a halogen, etc.)] or its tautomer, e.g. 7-(S- ethylisothioureido)-1,2,3,3a,4,5-hexahydropyrrolo[1,2-a]quinazoline. The compound of formula I can be obtained by a different synthetic method according to the kind of R2 by using a readily available compound of formula II as a starting raw material. Thereby, objective compound having inhibiting action n calcium- dependent NOS and apparently nondependent NOS is provided. |
