摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a satellite communication system where one line control station manages and operates pre-assignment multiple access (PAMA) and demand assignment multiple access(DAMA) systems altogether and the selection of the systems is not required for peripheral stations. SOLUTION: The communication system is provided with a center station 1 that monitors and controls the operating state of a communication channel in the lump and with pluralities of peripheral stations 3 connecting to a line control station via a communication satellite 2 through a common signal channel 4, and the center station 1 has a multiple access function by the DAMA where an idle communication channel is retrieved upon the receipt of a channel assign request signal from an optional caller station via the common signal channel and the communication channel in use is instructed to the caller station via the common signal channel. Furthermore, the center station 1 has a multiple access function by the PAMA where a communication channel registered in a couple of stations is instructed when a multiple access request signal is received from either of the registered stations by registering a couple of communication channels inter-communicated between a couple of the stations.
