<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent dielectric breakdown due to static electricity in the intersection part of a signal line and a common line forming a protection circuit. SOLUTION: By coupling the dielectric protection circuit system of even- numbered signal line (group) D2j and odd-numbered signal line (group) D2j-1, being electrically independent, in a dielectric protection circuit of an active element substrate, in which the short-circuit inspection of an adjacent signal line Dj is simply realized altogether through short bars SHde, SHdo, by means of a connecting line DMsp between the short bars, both are made from a floating state to an electrically conducting state and simultaneously the coupling is completed when dielectric breakdown place is formed. Consequently, dielectric breakdown is prevented by making the dielectric protection circuit system for both even and odd-numbered groups to be the same potential and the intersecting part of the signal line and the common line to be the same potential.</p> |
