PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To turn off gas burner before electric wiring and other parts are thermally affected by permitting a controller to stop supplying fuel gas to a gas burner when a overheat detector detects temperature higher than a given value. SOLUTION: In order to cope with the case where a flame of a range burner 2 is drawn into the range body, a bimetal element 4 which serves as an overheat detector is arranged in a region which is possibly overheated by the flame. When an airflow which sucks air above the range body into the body is generated in the range body and a flame of a gas burner is drawn into the body, the temperature around the bimetal element 4 is drastically raised, and, upon exceeding a given temperature, the bimetal element 4 is brought into an OFF state. As a result, a solenoid safety valve 33 is closed to stop supply of a fuel gas, thereby automatically turning off the burner. In this way, even if a frame is drawn into the range body, the inner electric wiring and other parts are prevented from being thermally affected.
